Five Alternatives for not choosing Samsung Mega 5.8

 If you are in the market to pick up a smartphone/phablet for a price of $450 ( Rs. 25,000 ), here are five alternatives you can consider if a large display isn't at the top of your priority list.

Samsung has recently launched the large screen smartphone Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3. We recently had the chance to carefully test the Mega 5.8 for review (coming soon), and the results are mixed. Put simply, it is difficult to recommend the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8. To start with you can get better features from smartphones in the similar price bracket. The camera of Galaxy Mega 5.8 is good; it works well as a smartphone, it has Samsung's 'S' shenanigans, but, the display screen and build of the gadget feels lacklustre when compared to the other as competition.

Since we are not completely amazed with the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 smartphone with its specs, here are some alternatives we felt we should recommend, phablets you can consider if you've  a budget of around $450 ( Rs. 25,000 ),its price .

1. Huawei Ascend Mate


Priced the same as the  Galaxy Mega 5.8, the Huawei Ascend Mate have better specifications and features. The Ascend Mate runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, has a 1.5GHz Hi-Silicon K3V2 quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, and a 4050mAh battery. Other features include an 6.1-inch 1280 x 720 pixel IPS+ display screen with Magic Touch glove compatibility and Gorilla Glass, an 8MP rear-facing autofocus cam with 1080p HD video recording and HDR, a 1MP front-facing 720p camera, and Dolby mobile sound enhancement.

 Weight of it is hefty 198 grams, the Huawei Ascend Mate is 9.9mm thick . Connectivity options include Wi-Fi a/b/g/n with Direct functionality, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0 LE+EDR,  microUSB, and 3.5mm audio jack and other common specs.

Same like Sense UI of HTC or TouchWiz UI of Samsung, the OS on the Ascend Mate has the Emotion UI, that tries to bring some features that will distinguish it from the plethora of Android smartphones available. If you are not in love with TouchWiz and are open to taking up a new skin, then you can choose the Huawei Ascend Mate for price of $440 ( Rs. 24,900 ).


2. Samsung Galaxy S III

Samsung Galaxy S III, which is current price is $470 ( Rs. 27,500 ). The S III comes with beautiful 4.8-inch 720p display screen. It has a quad-core CPU and the power is good enough to comfortably run any of the applications from the Google Play store. The S3 smartphone comes with TouchWiz overlaying the OS .

The display screen of the S3 smartphone is really small compared to the Mega 5.8, but the gadget is a good performer and it's a treat to consume multimedia on irrespective having a small display, others specs are supporting it.

3. LG Nexus 4

If a raw Android experience is what you are seeking, then the Nexus 4 is the smartphone for you personally. For $460 ( Rs. 25,990 ), you get a quad-core processor, 4.7-inch 720p display screen and also the smoothest Android feel on a smartphone device currently known to man. Sure, the LG Nexus 4 has a mere 16GB built-in storage and the camera is not the best but the package deal is sufficient to attract any Android smartphone lover.

 4. Samsung Galaxy Note II
If a large Display screen smartphone/phablet is what you are seeking , then nothing beats the Samsung Galaxy Note II. The phablet have a 5.5-inch display with 720p resolution. The gadget has an Exynos 4412 1.6GHz quad-core processor supported with 2GB of RAM. The Note II runs on a 3100mAh battery, which is advantage.

The second, is that there're a lots of apps that come preloaded on the Galaxy Note II that benefit from the S Pen. You can just hover the S pen over a folder to know its content, use it to write, draw and many more on the device for many apps. You can also have a large number of applications that can run in multi-window on the Note II. This lets you benefit from the large display screen of the device. .

5. Nokia Lumia 820

If you want little change and wants to try other OS, then you can consider the Nokia Lumia 820. This smartphone runs on the Windows Phone 8 OS. The Lumia 820 has looks that'll definitely turn heads and the display screen is good to read text on. Irrespective of having a low resolution display screen, the reproduction of content on the display is good.

For price  $440 ( Rs. 24,500  ), the Nokia Lumia 820 gives you a good display and an overall smooth and faster performing smartphone.

Article is complete mismatch, i think you wanted to suggest alternatives to Samsung galaxy mega 6.3, but apart from Huawei ascend mate and Note 2, rest all are not a phablet......
